Email/Webmail FAQ


Configuring Outlook or Outlook Express for "POP" E-Mail

 

Follow these steps to configure Outlook & Outlook Express to access your account. 
  1. If the E-mail Accounts Wizard does not start automatically, go to Tools, then select E-mail Accounts from drop down menu options.

  2. The E-mail Accounts wizard opens to guide you through the configuration.  

    In the E-mail Accounts box, select Add a new e-mail account.  Click Next.

  3. For Server Type, select POP3.  Click Next.
  4. Internet E-mail Settings (POP3)
    • In the Your Name text box, enter your full name as you wish it to appear in your e-mail correspondence.
    • In the E-mail Address text box, enter your full e-mail address.
    • For Incoming mail server (POP3), enter 208.63.41.25
    • The Outgoing mail server (SMTP) should be provided by your ISP/Internet Service Provider 
    •    If you access the Internet using Bellsouth dial-in services or if Bellsouth is your Internet Service Provider (ISP), your SMTP server will be different.  i.e. mail.bellsouth.net Contact your ISP for more details on configuring your SMTP
    • At the User Name field enter your account name as follows: youremail@yourdomain.com (replace the information with your actual domain which may be a .com, .net, .biz, or .org - ) ie mark@amscorp.biz This is your sign-in name for WebMail also.

     

    • At the Password field, type in your password if you want your password saved.  If you do not want your password saved, uncheck the option for Remember password.  Remember, if you share a work station and choose to save your password, anyone using that work station will have full access to your e-mail.

 

  1. Click Next in the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) box.  The Congratulations window opens confirming your configuration.  Click Finish to complete your setup.

 

Web Folder Support

 

AMSWebHost - Utilizes Advanced Windows Server 2003 Technology with FrontPage Extensions. Your account can be accessed by way of "Web Folders" on the Windows machines or through FrontPage.

On WinXP:

1.      Open My Network Places (To open My Network Places, double-click the My Network Places icon on your desktop.)

2.      Under Network Tasks, click "Add a network place".

3.      Follow the instructions in the Add Network Place Wizard to add a shortcut to a location on your network or Web site.

4.      When prompted for your username enter and for your password

5.      Press "Finish".
